I’ve been dating this woman since mid-July. Last night on the phone, she confessed to me that since the second date, she’s only seen me as just a friend. I asked her if she wants to stop dating. She said no and that she wants our relationship to form organically. She thought I was trying too hard, but I’m not, I’m just being myself. I asked her what her last boyfriend did to win her over and she said taking charge, doing nice things for her, and buying her flowers. These are things I have been doing.

I told her that and she says she regrets telling me because of how I reacted. Then she asked me if I was breaking up with her. How can I break up with someone I’m not officially with? She said she wants to do one more date to assess how she feels. To me, she’s already made up her mind based on what she said prior. Am I setting myself up for more heartbreak by continuing to pursue or not?

In life some wonderful relationships have develop from wonderful friendships however she’s playing you like a fiddle & I’m sure she’s playing other guys as well & instead of booty calls she’s taking guys on foodie calls. If she want to assess how she feels by going on another date with you I think you should delay going on a date with her & don’t even bring it up in conversation. Like a friendship a date should be earned & if she really want to go on a date with you I think she should ask you on a date.

Setting yourself up for failure. She's not into you and is evaluating another guy that she's more into, but isn't that into her. You'll be the backup plan, plus will buy her things. If you continue, you shouldn't try as hard. She's grossed out by how hard you try.
