Why do only much younger men dig me?

I am 40 as it states. While I look much younger and, I am a pretty young at heart person, it's clear that I am not in my 20s. At least not in my early 20s.

As I age, the men showing real interest are getting younger.

This is problematic. I don't ask what I'm doing wrong because I'm just being me but, it's starting to get me down a bit.

Any advice?

I think it's a compliment to you that younger guys are interested in you. The issue with meeting guys your own age is many are already in relationships, so it is more of a challenge than meeting single younger guys.

Who knows, maybe as you get older you start looking better, or maybe because young man are starting to like older women more.. Also, it could just be your perception of what's happening..

You should be flattered, younger guys thinking that you're younger than you actually are and they're attracted to you. I can't imagine how many women in their 40s wish they had the same experience. You're not doing anything wrong, you might be hanging out of places that are mostly frequented by younger people. I would have to know more about your personal life and where your meeting these young guys

I don't really hang out places. I'm basically always in motion. Even new female friends are younger. It is flattering but I want a lifetime partner and younger guys are unstable.

Well we look for different things as we get older very naturally. So I think it will revolve around this. Maybe because you are young at heart, men your age will see you as unreliable.

Can't say much more than that without actually knowing you. The question is do you want and should you do anything about it? It is highly problematic to change who you are..

A lot of people who do certain drugs at a young age maintain their youthful mentalities and thought loops through to adulthood.

What you're describing sounds so me like something a person might go through if others do not view them as mature.

Like career, what you do in your free time, your interests etc.

It could also have to do with your reactions to things.

I am a working artist.

My studio is in my home. I live in a nice place and people don't really know how I afford my lifestyle (not their business).

When you say a lot of drugs I thought you meant like rehab, drug addiction etc.

I did used to blaze a lot yes and I did drink but I haven't touched intoxicants in nearly 20 years.

People may not think I'm serious initially and I guess I act pretty formal with people my age.

Honestly they seem so old to me then I'm like wait... they're my age but I just don't feel like that.

I guess I seem irresponsible but it's just because I'm legit so chill. The world could be collapsing but I'm still smelling flowers and what not because everything always works out.

I've been through so much crap that I know this to be true.

I just don't like cynical, miserable people who are pessimistic and complaining.

It's probably something slightly different. A lot of optimists come across a certain way. Especially if they never had to learn the cues that you learn working in an office.

But most people have pretty shitty ideas on maturity. Seems like you don't have a good reason to feel any type of way if you're taking care of yourself. Which means a more machevellian approach would probably help more than looking at yourself specifically.

Young people take things at face value more. Older people tend to add layers and read between the lines. If you aren't taking control of what they see then you'll have a tough time being on the same page.
