Does married guy feel guilty for saying these things?

He was my friend for years since we met at Uni, I liked him, he didn’t feel the same. We kept in touch on and off just friendly checking in etc but recently he said things that were a bit wrong.

He messaged me saying hello again but then wanted to know if I was seeing anyone and if I was in the state I could stay with him. I said no thanks and said his wife wouldn’t be happy with that THEN he says they live separately due to work/life…?
Then he apologises if it was inappropriate like yeah a little bit!

He didn’t respond since and I’m not even talking to him anymore, it’s disgusting and I’m so in love with my partner, and HOW can he not feel bad or guilty for saying these things to me? This guy has so many chances with me and NEVER took them, what is wrong with him?

Wow that's really messed up of him to say that stuff when he's married. If they live separately it doesn't make it okay at all. I'd feel super guilty and ashamed if I was married and saying things like that to another girl. Just cuz they're apart doesn't mean he's not still committed to his wife. Him not responding or apologizing more sincerely is lame too. He should know it was wrong. Some guys just don't think straight when they're not being loyal I guess. I wouldn't even waste anymore thoughts on him if I were you, he clearly doesn't respect his marriage or your relationship. You're right to cut contact completely. It says a lot that you're so loyal to your partner. I'm sure your guy appreciates that way more than that married dude ever could. Hopefully he feels bad about it deep down but who knows. Best thing is to just keep doing you and being happy with who you're with!

He’s not separated they still see each other he said and are very much still married
