My boyfriend always ask me if I'm going on a date or something, If I just do my hair, take a shower or put on a little makeup... I tell him it bothers me because I am loyal but he says he's just joking and I'm just being grumpy about it... how do I get him to understand it makes me not want do any of this anymore, especially for him?

Express your feelings you should be able to communicate and if he’s shutting that down you have to decide if this is worth it. Maybe you’re both looking for different things and he probably has insecurities and it’s coming out in a passive aggressive way, if he does have them he needs to also communicate those and talk things through.

It could just be joking but if you’ve expressed how it makes you feel like a adult he should respect that. If it’s a dealbreaker for him then it’s what it is. But this seems like a easy problem to work through.

The problem is when people can’t communicate it just builds up and comes out nasty later instead of having a adult adult talk

it does just sound like joking to me. but if it does genuinely bother you just tell him and make sure you let him now you don't think its funny. he should stop... but if he doesn't that in itself could be an issue...

but with this specifically he does sound like he's just joking around.

That's how my wife compliments me, and it's obviously a joke. It could also be him passive aggressively calling out that you're putting extra effort in for other guys, but not for him. A lot of guys get their feelings hurt over that.
