A guy I met on a dating app would contact me everyday and we met many times. I think he might of loved bombed me because he was already planning deep stuff and wrote our names on a tree with a heart on our first date. He said he was a God fearing man. I am a virgin waiting until marriage so I thought he was on the same page because he never initiated anything sexual and he would send bible verses. I went to his house because he was feeling not well after an eye surgery. He started kissing me really passionately. He sends me a text after I left that he apologized that he never initiated anything sexual and that he was attracted to me. That's when I texted back and informed him that I was a virgin waiting until marriage so he dumped me the following day through text. He said he was looking for love but needed sex so he wasn't going to pursue us anymore. He didn't even say goodbye or called me for a formal goodbye. I was there for his eye surgery so I felt like I was really kind to him. I'm heartbroken. How do I get passed this. He was the first guy who treated me "nicely", but I can't help to think he just acted nice to have sex. I had to miss work today because I'm a mess emotionally. I felt led on to belive he was this Good Christian guy. I'm a really nice girl looking for love and a Christian relationship, but it seems most Christian guys want sex or not really practicing Christians. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏🏽

I can understand what you went through because when I was a young virgin guy, I was similarly led on then dumped.

Really sucks.

Then I told myself she never loved me. It didn't help.

I focused on academics and work and exercise. These didn't really help much too.

Finally I chose to date again. Found a new girl and entered a committed relationship.

It helped and I moved on.

I hope this experience of mine can help you see that you're not alone facing such ordeal. And it will pass. Move on. Date again. This time be more cautious.

Guys just want sex.

It's more difficult to get commitment now. But I think if you're careful and chaste, you should find a guy who also wait for marriage to lose it.

I attract a lot of narcissists. I think It is a dream of mine to get married and have kids so many men prey on that vulnerability online. I will be careful and continue to be chaste. I think I'd change that from a negative to..."you are looking forward to getting married so you can do that other stuff... etc, what does he think?". thats flirty and fun and opens discussion. It's another way of saying the same thing.

That puts the focus on future goals with the reward in sight. Say no sex kills the mood. Some will feel hopeless and give up. You should find someone that will meet your criteria, I've seen other guys the same as you.

Rest up, heal up, and try again. ice cream... or the gym...

Yeah I should start thinking like that because I do look forward to marriage and sex as the reward lol. I thought he wanted that with me because I put on my dating profile I am looking for a kind hearted man that shares my Christian beliefs and values and he put he was a God fearing man. Best to indicate this on dating app that you are waiting till marriage. or have that conversation on a first call/text/meet.

I don’t blame him … men/women want sex at some point… so if you are waiting… best to share your views early on. Clear communication is key in any relationships.

My question is how do I cope with this. I guess I was asking for some human compassion. Well I respect his decision. I never said anything because he clearly stated on his profile he was a God fearing man. I assumed we were on the same page because he never initiated anything sexual. I should of been direct, so lesson learned. I don't want to feel more bad about this. I stated on my profile that I'm looking for a kind hearted man that shares my Christian beliefs and values. I don't know how specific I should get. Is there another way I can state this without getting too personal about about my virginity and sex? This was my first actual dating experience online. I'm domestic violence survivor and was manipulated about giving sex in the past. I guess this was all new to me and now I'm heartbroken.
