Why does it seem California is a bad place for people of color to live?

Considering that persons of color or the majority in California, it's hard to see why.
In the 2020 Census, "White alone (non-Hispanic)" persons were only 34.69% of the population. So, in other words, 65.31% were "persons of color".

In short, out of every 3 Californians, 1 is White and 2 are not.
