Why did he block me after I unfollowed him?

Hi,

So I matched with this guy on an app during holidays. We went on a trip together and spent the whole day together. We really hit it off and had a good time. We had many things in common and many life goals also. He held my hands and kissed me. He also invited me on another trip with him to another city. We live on different continents tho... but I kinda don't care.

After we parted, we still texted a bit.

The next day tho he kept the conversation short and wished me a good night. Later tho, I noticed that he had unmatched me from the dating app? Why? I kinda dont care if I'm matched or not.

Since he had invited me to another city, I told him the flight prices, which were a bit hight for me. I told him I couldnt afford it. Even tho he had offered me to pay the flight, he didn't say anything this time. I suggested taking a train instead, but he didn't answer that suggestion. So I figured he didn't want to see me after all. He kept watching my stories tho, which annoyed me a bit. Since he unmatched me from the dating app and also didn't suggest me coming by train, I thought he wasn't interested after all and unfollowed und removed him from my Instagram. I also made my profile private so he couldnt see my posts.

Few days later, I checked his profile and saw no more posts anymore. Before, I could see his posts because it was public. My friend sees them all. I also dont find him throu instagram search and it doesn't show me his name. I can technically follow him on the profile, but dont know if he's blocked me or restricted me.

I think it's really weird cause he had invited me etc and even offered to pay for everything and then unmatched me and didn't really react when I told him I could also take a train...

What was his deal?
