Valid reason to break up?

My boyfriend (22) and I (20) of a year got into a bad argument and once things calmed down and we were good again I asked him if we could talk over the weekend about things we both think we can do better. He said yes. Fast forward to Friday night he said we’d talk about it Saturday he avoided the conversation then and then again on Sunday. I brought up that I was disappointed that we didn’t talk about it. So I then asked can we talk about it next weekend, he said yes.

If he avoids it again, is it valid to break up? It feels like he isn’t concerned with us being better. Or am I just stupid

You are not stupid, you made your request, it was not respected. So, according to me it is a very valid reason, do not allow people to step on you and ignore your requests. Especially because you are trying to BUILD and COMMUNICATE.

It would be valid to give him the breakup ultimatum right now. He's obviously regretful, immature, lacks communication skills, disrespects you, and an all-around emotionally stunted male.

You don't need a reason to break up -- you need multiple reasons to stay together.

Even if he tries to avoid that, i would talk to him openly that you can't do that if he doesn't try to talk with you.
