I like nerds but they don’t like me, how do I appeal to them?

How can I catch their attention? If I talk too much, they’ll shut down. If I don’t talk enough, they’ll shut down. What gives?

It’s not that they don’t. They tend to be introverts, shy and easily intimidated. Just keep engaging them by asking them about things they’re interested in. Let them teach you something.
