Am I in the wrong with my LDR?

I am planning to meet him soon. I told him I wanted my own hotel room to myself. He was a bit pushy and wanted to stay with me and go to a 5 star hotel. I said no and explained I wanted my privacy and personal space to myself and see how things go because I am there to see if we can be compatible in person. He agreed however he says I do not trust him enough and have no faith in him. I said I am meeting him for the first time it makes sense to be a bit cautious. I've known him for 2 years as friends and 8 months as dating, all online.

I dont believe I am in the wrong for how I feel. I feel like its common sense to be like this, to give someones personal space while trying to know them, right?

I don't think you're in the wrong here at all girl. Meeting someone for the first time after only knowing them online for that long, it's totally smart to take things slow and keep your own space at first.

Your safety and comfort should be the priority here, not rushing into staying together right away. He may like you a lot, but he needs to respect your boundaries too. This is already a big step meeting in person - no sense pressuring you on more before you even see how that goes.

If he cares, he'll understand you need your own room just to ease into things without feeling watched or whatever. That doesn't mean you don't trust him, you're just protecting yourself. Any good guy would get that. Don't let him guilt you - stand your ground that this is what makes YOU feel safe and comfortable. If he can't accept that, then he's not as caring as you need him to be. You deserve to feel in control of the situation. Maybe give it time and see how the visit goes before deciding next steps. You got this girl!
