Would you recommend a gift in first date?

i am going to meet a girl for the first time after texting for few weeks, she is in a different city , would you recommend bringing a gift? if so what do you recommend?

No! You have to remember you're setting the tone for the future (if there is a future) and the timone you're setting is that you always bring her a gift.

Also unless you've known this girl and there was some reason it would make more sense. But if you just met this girl it just sends the message you're just trying buy her affection. And any decent women would be uncomfortable at that implication.
