Why has everyone lost interest in dating?

I watched this video from the 90s. It was an interview with girls at a mall, talking about what they were up to. Almost all of them said they were just hanging out, keeping an eye out for cute guys. The guys pretty much said the same thing.

Can you imagine people saying that now? What happened to those days? No woman would say that now.
Personally, I see dating today as way too toxic, complicated, and often disappointing. I blame feminism (which forced women to work) and social media. Because now women are like I only want to date you if you’re making a million dollars a year.

There’s been a shift in priorities in women. The decentering of men, if you will. And it was much needed. But maybe an over correction. like to see women focusing on themselves (needs, desires, future, having fun) auntil about 25, and *then* from 25-30 focus on building a relationship with the right man.

We’ve seen how most marriages fail, with single parent mothers etc… it’s a shit show either way. I don’t think men are made to feel appreciated by a woman, while women have astronomical expectations

There are women who have reasonable expectations but were the type of women who only look at men with reasonable expectations too, one of them being that we don’t want a guy who wants to be the center of our attention.

Feminism of course is the primary root cause, but social media has definitely played a role.

The divide between men and women has been widening for the last two decades, but it has accelerated in the last 8 - 10 years. It's not sustainable. The US is headed for an ugly demise unless we have a serious course correction in the near future. I'm not optimistic.

I can't speak for anyone else, but to me it feels like women just hate men. Why would I put myself into an environment where I just get insulted and slandered all day? I just stay out of it
