Am I expected to sit in the middle close to a guy on a first date if he has a huge pickup?

I sure that may seem like a stupid question to some, but this is a first for me. I had a date with a guy with a huge pickup up off the ground. He helped me into the truck. I sat there and he invited me to slide over to middle with that seat belt to sit next to him. I did that. Did I do the right thing? I have never dated a guy with a pickup (especially a huge one like this). Is this an expectation usually? I have seen a lot of women in the middle in these trucks and a few not.

Do what you feel comfortable doing. Personally I like to lean on a door if I'm a passenger, so middle seat doesn't work for me.

If it's a first date, I'd strongly recommend maintaining your personal space. It takes up to 90 days to know if someone is just a user. It's nearly impossible to maintain a charade that long. So have the date. Enjoy yourself. See if you enjoy his company and if he enjoys yours when you're fully clothed.

Do whatever you are comfortable doing.
My truck has a large conseil in the middle so that takes the guesswork out of that issue.
Those older trucks with the bench seats were great for dates.

It doesn't matter what he expects. It matters what makes you comfortable. Do you know him well enough to get into a vehicle with him?
