Is it smart to get into a relationship soon after rejecting someone and telling them I don’t have time for relationship now?

I was seeing a guy i had a crush on for a long time. We kissed couple of times and went out on a date. But then i have met this new guy and cuz of him i rejected this first guy. I told him that i am busy now and dont have time now for relationship. But things with this new guy are moving really fast and i am really in love with him. It is three months since i rejected that first guy. I wonder how it will look when we get soon into a relationship with this guy when i told him that.
