Why do people show interest and then ghost?

I don’t understand, it’s one thing to ghost before we’ve made any type of real connection. I don’t really mind as much at that point but it’s frustrating when someone lies to you and says that they enjoy talking with you just to never hear from them again?

I had this happen to me a few days ago, this guy I was talking to said he really enjoyed talking with me but the next day I never heard back from him. Really disappointed

Ghosting is done by emotionally immature people that just don't want to deal with the hassle of explaining they're no longer interested. It's either that or they want to leave the option open in case the person they're currently talking to loses interest or they lose interest in them.

My advice, regardless of the reason... unmatch and stop communicating with someone that ghosts you at any point in your life. It's best not to give your time to anyone that doesn't value you to communicate honestly with you.

Could be a number of reasons. It seems to be a common trend nowadays. I just assume when it happens they were more interested in the other guys they're talking to. Dating today is about quantity not quality relationships. So if you are talking to someone that's "single" then assume they are talking to multiple people.

I don't care much... most internet acquaintanceships end after the first or second conversation, so it is what it is...

also people say a lot of crap to look good but they don't think or feel it... it's a modern plague... say only things that others will see as good... the honesty and genuity don't exist anymore... and their actions rarely confirm their words...

They are immature and the interest could have been faked. Easier for them to ghost then actually have to explain themselves why they don't want to meet up, go on date, etc.

In general in happen when you're the second for third choice and their favorite decide to give them attention so they drop you to chose them. Or you told them something they considered as red flag.

I've noticed that happens relatively often online. It seems like some people are just killing time or get bored and disappear. Don't blame yourself or feel bad because it's not just you this happens to.

I’ve had this happen when the person lied about what they were looking for. You must look out for the signs. Try and take a class on dating and you’ll quickly learn a lot of things about the red flag behaviors.

Women do this more than the men. I have not ghosted anyone yet. If we are busy then we should reschedule it. Socializing aka meeting new people, making new friends and dating can be a life changing experience.
