Obviously you’re free to say whatever you want about her, but why’s she catching strays? She isn’t the one who was full of shit, he was the one who did wrong. In fact she doesn’t even sound very lucky if he’s a cheater or was flirting with you behind her back. Anyway, with the energy you’re putting behind him I’m guessing there’s more to this story than strictly platonic, in which case I’d say he’s trying to have his cake and eat it too. Remember, just because he’s someone’s man doesn’t mean he’s a good or loyal one. He probably wants to keep access to you for something to potentially happen in the future like a hookup.

I have blocked him and try to avoid/ignore him, but I occasionally see him within our circles and he harasses me when we see each other.

You’re doing the right thing! I’m in a solid relationship now, but back when I was in this situation with a guy (we had mutuals) and he’d see me out at the bar or whatever, if his girlfriend wasn’t there he’d be all in my face doing everything for my attention. One of our group outings was karaoke, he’d sing songs he knew I liked or come sing to me. It was just super hurtful but more frustrating than anything, because why not just leave me alone? Well I’ll tell you this, his peace of mind is none of your business. He wants to have things both ways, but he also doesn’t want to feel awkward in your social circles. He shouldn’t have done what he did then! Such a loser. Keep ignoring him, maybe one day when you’re less irritated you can be his friend, for whatever that’s worth. Or if you’re lucky you’ll find someone new to bring around then he’ll REALLY have to leave you alone.

Once I found out he was taken I dealt with him for about 7-8 months after that before I started hanging out with another group of friends so that I wouldn’t see him anymore.
That part was the hardest but at the time I don’t think there was another option, like I’d try to hang out with them separately but someone always ended up inviting someone else from the group then it turns into a bigger thing inevitably with him included. I thought at least the girls would understand where I was coming from and be down for just us to hangout but “guilt” made them keep inviting others. Plus we were all only free on certain nights so they didn’t wanna sacrifice nights with everyone if that makes sense.
So I distanced myself from them and that really was what cut the guy out of my life. There were some girls at my job at the time who had kept inviting me out but I’d always decline for my other friend group. That’s how I met the guy I’m dating now, sbout a year after that!

I guess what I don’t understand about both of our situations is that why act obsessive over me (quite honestly I rejected this guy three times before I finally gave him a chance only for him to have a girlfriend this entire time) if you don’t want to be with me and you love your girlfriend?

Since I don’t really talk to the girls in that friend group anymore, I haven’t heard much about him in about a year. Last I heard, they were still together and moving out of state. But they’d also taken a break prior to that. From my understanding they had a trauma bond relationship, and despite it being toxic they just kept staying together. From the outside I wouldn’t have known that because he always doted over her and made it seem like they were so in love. It really came off sometimes like he showed her off on purpose to hurt me, I don't know. In any case, I think these guys are only in relationships with those women because they got to them first. The only reason this is confusing is because you gave him too much benefit of the doubt for being a good candidate and he’s not meeting your expectations. It is very clear that he is just a dog, and he is more into his girlfriend than he is to you. That explains everything you need to know.
