People who have used “It’s not you, it’s me”/“I’m not ready for a relationship” to reject someone: what was the real reason why you rejected them?

Jesus… this was supposed to be a fun question.

Yes, we all know that the “it’s not you, it’s me” or “I’m not ready for a relationship” is a white lie 99% of the time. Yes, no matter what the reason is, it is still a rejection.

I am asking you based off of your own person experiences, what was the real reason.

For example, I just told this to a guy who DM’d me on IG because he gives off the eternal bachelor vibe.
