We all have our reasons and preferences when it comes to rejecting someone. Some may be viewed as petty, but it could be a major (or even a minor) dealbreaker for you. It could be the fact that they hate animals or was a flat earther (this could be a major dealbreaker lmao). Just a few examples. I’m curious to hear your experiences/stories.
I was asked out twice in my life other than my own girlfriend (now ex), and I don't know if the reasons I rejected them were petty, but here goes.
The first one was this girl that found me via Tinder and swiped right on my profile and thought I was cute. Coincidentally, she was also a freshman student at my university. I was a sophomore at the time, so we decided to meet up. She was friendly and everything, but she had wonky teeth and really bad breath. After I initial meeting, she tried to text me again, but I told her that things won't work out.
The second one was a bit of a nutjob. She was a friend of my friend's who was one day using her profile to stalk her Instagram and came across one of my photos and then started to stalk me. She begged my friend to set her up with her, and I begrudgingly accepted to take her out to lunch one day. To put it simply, she gave me creepy stalker vibes and was a chain smoker while I do not smoke, so I naturally felt weird around her and said no.

I don't know if it was the pettiest I don't think it was it was just because I didn't like the person the way they liked me and I felt bad because I could just see it in her eyes and she was like devastated and I was trying to tell her don't feel that way don't be that way it doesn't have anything to do with you with me lol I just you know I'm good just didn't like her the same way she likes me that's all and at the same time I've had that same rejection so I mean I know what she was going through and I felt bad about that
Reminds me of my dad, thinks he knows me better than I know my self, opinionated domineering and thinks he’s right on everything. Telling me what I should do and how i should act and feel.
fml, I’m really annoyed at it. If I didn't have to interact with him at work (different department, different floor) I would block his arse.
I rejected a guy I likes cause he made it sound like he was doing me a favour when he asked me out, like we should date because you like me, instead of I want to date because I like you.

body odour 😷🤮 and bowl hair cut 😂. This was in high school.
She was addicted to Meth but went through recovery. Both her children's lives were ruined as well as other family members. She soon started to deny she ever was addicted. She was a nice person and we got a long great. However, it bothered me to great ends that she denied she ever was addicted and that her children's problems was of their own making.
I dated a woman that would beat her dog. I saw her take of her shoe and smack her dog across the head and yell at him. Even though she was a nice person and had a great personality I couldn't be around her.
I rejected a woman I met online because she had two children that she didn't put in her profile. In her profile she said she didn't have any children.
One of her family members let it slip that her mother had to pull a worm out her butt when she was a young girl... that "kilt it dead" right there...8 months in. And she was OCD (ish), beautiful in all ways, and smart. Saw her a year later in passing and the visual still had not ceased...
I saw a cute girl rife to college class with a long skate board. I assumed she was a “skater chic” (hated that subculture at the time) and stopped talking to her.
She didn't like dogs and I rejected her cause she told my dog to lay down real rude.
I was sitting next to this kind of nerdy but cute girl on a plane and it turned out we were both going to the same area in Germany for work for extended periods, and we got along well and I was going to ask for her contact info but when she laughed she got spit in my face and solely based on that I did not ask her info.
When I was young, I'd reject a girl I knew because she talked to other guys... That was very awkward and petty I'd say hahaha.
I don’t think I’ve ever rejected anyone for a petty reason. If he’s nice, polite, and cute I’ll go out with him.
I was never attracted to her physically.
by the way, to me this is actually *not* petty, but a very good reason. I can't control my lack of attraction, no matter how wonderful a human being she is. I never made that mistake again since.
girl i dated just threw her trash out of the car window!
All he did was talk about his kids. Which is fine bc I love kids but it was obvious to me that he wasn’t over his ex and just wanted their little family back. So I rejected a second date bc he wasn’t done with that situation which I understood.
She had tattoos and planned on getting a tattoo sleeve. We were getting along quite well before I knew that.
Once when I was in middle school, my guy bff sent me a piece of paper saying "I like u, Call me *****". I was really shocked but I knew that I can't love him cuz he is exactly like my brother so I had to break his heart! I ripped the piece of paper into 100 pieces and threw them into his face. Sometimes I think that I was so rude, but if I didn't do that I would have lost him!
He looked like someone from my past that I had a bad experience with, even though he was not the same person and had a good personality.
I rejected my wife because she was biased against my sexuality. I do not believe in people who discriminate against someone just because he wants multiple girlfriends and a wife.
She was a Red Sox and Celtics fan. To show you how truly petty it was to reject her for that, my best friend is a Celtics fan!
Reason I got rejected (allegedly from second hand account) I was too “goofy” I suppose is/was the word?
reason I rejected someone was her laziness. Literally would refuse to do anything. I’m not a party guy but I love being active.
Wanted to get hammered. Friend of a model so quite hot, everyone called my an idiot afterwards.
I've never been faced with the opportunity to reject anyone, so future tense I'll reject them just because I can
I was rejected more than doing the rejecting... I rejected several who were great friends they wanted more. They were fun to be with but not anything else. Women can be chubby, chunky, overweight but plain fat? NO thanks.
