Is anyone else quick to stop replying with these kinds of one sided conversations?

30F and one sided as in when I ask a follow up question, they don’t follow up with another question. As you can see, I usually give them around 2 shots and if they’re not asking any other questions about me/only are talking about themselves, that’s the end of that “conversation”. I quoted that because it doesn’t feel like a conversation at that point…am I being unreasonable? Or right to assume it’s just bad luck and this is why I take the apps with a grain of salt?

But it lacked purpose.


Dating apps are for dating. And in order to set up a date you need to first flirt and banter and create a level of attraction and comfort with the other person


Talking about your day is fine and dandy as a guy but you also supposed to ask questions, flirt, compliment, make jokes, come up with interesting ideas, set up a date


These guys clearly wanted to talk for days on end


And it’s not their fault, they probably lack the skills as most guys do


All the guys you see in comment sections going “dating apps suck” “it’s rigged against men” bla bla bla.
They just don’t know how to play to win

I take what people give me and keep my expectations low with women. Also you never know how someone else perceives a conversation.

Prime example: I was having a back and forth with a woman over DM's. It wasn't exactly fast and furious. I'd send a message. 10 minutes later she'd respond. 10 minutes later I'd respond etc. Then after about a half hr. Of nothing, and the nature of her last post I'd assumed the conversation had concluded. But I guess I made the mistake of not formally ending it with a "goodbye". I signed off. The next day she blasted me for just leaving her hanging. I apologized as that was not my intent. Her response? She left me hanging.😆

All you can do is your best, try to learn from your mistakes, and try not to put to many expectations on someone else. Trust me, people seldom live up to the expectations you place on them. And you'll live a happier life.

They seem like normal conversations, and your examples show they’re just starting, with messages often days apart on both your end and your partner’s end. I get wanting to find “the one” but it feels like you’re just giving these guys two lines and then leaving, it’s kinda weird.

From what you’ve shown here, those conversations are not one-sided. Both people seem to be speaking equally as much.

That wasn't a one-sided conversation at all. It wasn't a particularly fruitful or purposeful conversation, but it definitely wasn't one-sided.
