When is a meeting considered a date?

I met a guy who has shown interest in dating me. I told him for many times that it is impossible for me to consider dating him. He lives too far from me. He traveled to see me. So I had to meet him out of obligation. After meeting him I texted to remind him about the impossibility of our dating

Would it be a date if I met a woman lol. He was no different than a woman to me. Just a meeting.

If you just met him out of obligation since he travel so far I wouldn’t call that a date. But if he did it say once a month for like six months. Would you still meet him out if obligation? Or would it be out of friendship? Or would you tell him you can’t meet him? Even if he comes anyway?

Could that be a friendship but him not be friend-zoned? Who knows he may one day move closer…

I felt sick in the stomach for many days lol. He realized I felt unpleasance lol. He texted and said he would rather stop bothering me lol.
I had to meet him. He was mt brother's relative. It would be a shame to be rude to him. I have the reputation of being rude lol since I refuse to go on a date with any man. I didn't want my brother to feeo bad lol
