Hi, I’m 41 year old mom of 19 year old boy-girl twins. Last year right before Christmas I lost my husband of 20 years. He’s the only man I ever loved and we were together since high school! I am getting pretty lonely my daughter told me to start dating and wants me to set up a dating profile. I’m nervous to do so but I’m lonely and could use some male companionship. My daughter lives in a college dorm but comes home regularly on weekends! My son stays at home and works full time. We think I am ready to start dating again but Im nervous about a few things. Like having my son see me with another man. Getting all sexy’d up and having another man look at me sexually, and the awkwardness of having adult sleep overs down the road. I’m 41 I’ve been single for just over a year I’m still fit and fairly attractive I think I have a lot I can offer a guy. Do you think I’m ready to start dating again and any advice?

Well you're the only one that knows if you're truly ready. And just to let you know that most of the dating apps all they are really is just a hookup so be careful of that

Don't look at it as a date look at it as you're getting to meet a new friend because that's more important than anything right now somebody that you can click with you have the same interest . Somebody that can make you laugh smile.

And a little heads people aren't like they were 20 years ago it's a whole different world out there now. People are a lot different. In that Realm.

Just want a guy speaking to you look deep into his eyes because they will tell you everything about himself he will tell you everything about himself without even knowing it if you listen..

And then I'm sure that you're probably nervous about being intimate..

Well don't be. If a guy takes you out dancing and there's a slow dance on pay attention the way that he holds you the way that he pulls you in close the way his body touches your body and even the pressure of the touch it will tell you everything but if you can't hold you right and make you feel good in his arms and you have to think twice about that one

And when it comes to making love I mean you know what you want lol but if he cannot make you feel like you just became one with somebody then you should think twice about that one too

We are made from energy and we all have energy within and if you cannot feel that from somebody and especially if you make love if he cannot make you become one with him then everything twice about that one

I don't think you're going to have any problems whatsoever you look good and I think one of the best parts is your kids giving you permission helping you you're going to have a blast I can see it in your eyes so anyway good luck

Sorry to hear about the husband, I believe you are ready to date again, although I do believe how you move about that does have to be a bit different since you've got offspring, even tho they are adults, their emotions for their biological father might still effect your dating life so how you move considering them as well should be with precaution and planning to try your best to get the best results from it all, I'm not very experienced when it comes to situations like this cause I'm still young and stuff and children aren't something I've got much knowledge on but if I were to take an educated guess considering their father is no longer with them and his last moments were remaining loyal to you there's a possibility of emotional conflict in your situation, if I had to give advice with the limited knowledge I have on this I would agree with you on them feeling some type of way when it comes to sexualization, I think the less they see of that the better and if things are gonna get sexy at all it should be in private without the presence of your kids, more specifically the son, then as time goes by, if they accept the new man in your life then it will all eventually/should fall into place.

I’m really sorry about your loss and a man who enters a long term relationship with you needs to understand the loss that you had. Needs to be someone whose going to help you through the grief process.

I will say to be careful about dating sites because you just don’t know who you’re talking to. There is a lot of unserious people out there and I don’t think you need to be involved with men who are only looking for one thing. I assume you’re wanting to find love and companionship again.

Also if you’re not sexying up around anyone that you’re not in a committed relationship with. Then I don’t see why it would be a problem. Unless you’re strutting around town like that.

You're probably just overthinking it. You definitely should get out there and just keep things low stakes. Don't settle for someone that'll disrupt your peace you've already cultivated. Single life is vastly different from coupling up. Hold out for sun and stars, but some fun dates can't hurt while waiting.

The best advice I can give you, if you're going to dip a toe back in the dating world is KNOW YOUR BOUNDARIES. I know you're knock a kid anymore but it's rough out there.
