How should I handle this with a lady I just started talking to and met the other day?

I started talking to this one lady off Facebook Dating a few weeks ago and I met her in person 2 days ago, at the time of this writing. I asked her out, and while she said yes and I did meet her, she considered it more of a meeting and not a date, and she says she doesn't want to rush into a relationship right now. Although we did talk about some interesting topics, like her exes, some mistakes I've made on dates before I feel I've learned from, and she even asked me if I want kids in the future. She has 2 kids herself, and we did talk a bit about them. She's been cheated on and both of her kids dads are pretty bad, so that's why she doesn't want to rush into anything. I did give her my number if she wants to move the chat to that, but we're still talking on Facebook Dating instead. I'm not mad about that and I did tell her it was up to her if she wanted to start texting. I've had times when I unintentionally became controlling, or at least I have been told that by women I dated before, and I can see why, so I'm definitely trying to avoid that here. We're still chatting and it seems like she does want to see me again. But it may be quite a while until I actually become official with her, or even get her number. How do you think I should handle this?

It really depends on how long you’re willing to wait. You’ll probably be bummed to find out that a lot of inmates looking for companionship are really just bored, passing time and hoping you will put some money on their books. This may not be the case with her and she turns out to be a good woman, but if she’s got some solid time left I don't know if it’s wise committing to someone you can’t really be with. It’s hard to build and maintain a relationship under those circumstances as well.

That sucks but keep looking for one without kids. I don’t even want the damaged goods to begin with. And you wanna play games too? Sure take your time and let every opportunity walk out the door. Fine. These girls that join dating apps then drag their feet not wanting to date… do you not know what dating app means? Keep looking. You asked she said no not right now.


Always with the trying to keep you tied up so you can’t move on or anything. That’s one of the most irritating dating tactics. Keep swiping I’m sure there’s better.

Just play it cool and don’t rush anything , just start off with just being her friend , and get to know each other , more than likely she will eventually feel closer to you and that’s when you can ask her on a date
