Do you reply to texts from people you have no interest in talking to out of courtesy?

Depends on circumstances.

Are they rude/mean or nice?
Are they trying to sell me something?
Are they asking me to help them with something that is more effort then I am willing to put in based on how well (or not) we know each other.

If it's spam and ads, then definitely not. If it's someone I know, then I do respond with something as simple as "Sorry I'm busy." I try to communicate with others how I'd appreciate being communicated with.

Sometimes.. I like when they take the hint that I have no interest in them and they go away on their own accord so I don't have to be mean lol.

Hell I don't even reply to people that I love and best friends with because I'm doing other things at the moment and hopefully I'll remember in an hour or so instead of 3 days down the road

That would be considered SPAM, and I almost always delete the text and block the number.

If I had no interest in talking to them , why would I have their number to know who it was from? .. the question pretty much answers itself , why would I reply if I have no interest?

I generally make a point of not answering unsolicited texts on my mobile as majority their just spam.

I never get texts from people I don't wanna talk to. Most often, except for those from my girlfriend, I only get advertisement texts and I hardly ever bother to read them. I don't keep my cell phone on 24/7 like most people. I have it shut off and sitting on the floor next to my computer unless I intend to make a call or expect one to come in.

If they are in my contacts there is no reason not to talk to them, if they are somone I don't wish to talk to they aren't in my contacts and get ignored.

I will always. I will not reply to a man I'm in love with if he does something to upset me. If you ignore a person you hate, you can. But you can reply to their texts and display your disinterest instead of ignoring them and giving them hopes.
