Why are so many men uncomfortable around transgender women?

I personally love transgender women, far more than I do cisgender women. But it seems very few other men share this love that I have. I've always wondered why, and these are the only possible answers I could come up with.

They're insecure about their sexuality

They can't handle transgender women

Transgender women won't date them

I believe they’re uncomfortable around transgender women for two reasons. 1 being that they don’t want to be teased or ridiculed by their peers for being involved with a woman who ‘used to’ be a man, being labelled as gay if they’re romantically involved, etc. And 2 being that I think a lot of men feel uncomfortable around transgender women for the same reason that they feel uncomfortable around gay men - they’re scared that they’ll be objectified and harassed in the same way that they (the straight men) objectify and harass cis women.

Even if a man doesn't consciously hold transphobic beliefs, they may still be influenced by societal biases and internalized transphobia. This can manifest as discomfort, confusion, or even fear. They basically have a mental illness.

I just don't see the point. It isn't my lifestyle, and something I'm not attracted to. Like I'd act professional if I had a coworker who convinced themself to take estrogen or get their junk removed, that's a them problem.

Aside from that, why the hell do I need to go out of my way to accommodate or seek out things I see as odd and unusual? I don't see people advocating for epilepsy or autism inclusion this much, and each one is about the same percentage of the population.

Because trans-women are men. They are basically drag queens.

Heterosexual men are masculine. They think and behave like men and they like real women. They don't want to be associated with trans women or guys who act gay because, it feels icky and would be perceived as affiliation with that subculture.

Men are men and women are women.

Heterosexual men are particularly turned off by the thought of romance or sexual intimacy with other men.

I don't feel comfortable around woke people generally, and most transgender people are woke as hell. I notice your poll options are severely restricted to blaming these men or making them seem bad, so I'd avoid YOU as well.

It probably stems from the possibility that one of these Trans people might trick them into thinking they are biologically female. Most Trans people are upfront about what they are (thank goodness). But there's always the risk that one will think they're so much like a woman that they can withhold the fact that they were once a man.

That's a good question. I don't feel like that around them
