I think gay dude is probably bi dude. And he finds you attractive but he doesn't want anybody else to know that he likes girls because he doesn't want it to get back to anybody that he knows that might shun him for it but there's a part of him that likes you cuz he either wants to protect you but he wants to be a part of you somehow some way I don't give you anything you or anybody else because he would just come out and say it I would think.

Because if he was just trying to protect you in some manner he would do so he would tell you but I think he wants a little more is what it sounds like but he doesn't want anybody else to know about it but just because I think something doesn't mean I'm right but there's something weird about it

Can you give just a little bit more background on your question? If this guy is truly gay, normally he would have no interest in your relationship status. One exception could be maybe he was requested by one of his straight male friends to ask you the question in his behalf. True gay men are considered harmless by most women and treated as one of the girls, so that may have been the idea.

That’s so weird, I’m not sure why he’s so focused on your relationship status. I think he might just be projecting some things or trying to offer advice, but it is not his place. If you feel like it is getting uncomfortable, maybe just set a boundary with him. You do not owe him any explanation about your personal life
