Does age really matter?

I’m 51 and am madly in love with a 28 year old woman who I’ve known for a number of years. When I mention this to people some screw their faces up and tell me not to be so stupid, others have even called me a pedophile, which I can guarantee I’m not! I’ve always told them that if they saw her through my eyes they’d understand my feelings. Anyway I’d like your opinions on whether it’s wrong because of the age gap.

She is almost 30 years old. She is not a child. Sure the age gap is significant but we aren't talking about someone just into adulthood. This is a grown woman that is older than I am. I know that I can make decisions for myself. I don't live with my parents (I am in a relationship) and don't depend on them. Her being older than me I would only assume she has her stuff together. So there is nothing wrong with it as long as you are both invested in each other. Now that doesn't mean that others are not going to continue to look at it in the wrong light. I think you are always going to have that. So if you can't deal with it then this isn't the right relationship because that isn't going to stop.

First of anyone that calls you a pedophile for being in love with a 28 year old woman is an ignorant rather unintelligent a d uninformed dork and doesn't have a clue what a pedophile is. By definition a pedophile is a person that is sexually interested in prepubescent children which means they're sexually interested in either boys or girls that are in ghe age range of around 10 years of age or younger. The exact age is hard to define because different persons reach puberty at different ages. It still means s child that has not reached puberty and I would say that virtually all 28 year old women have definitely reached puberty.

There’s nothing wrong with it. My husband gets the same thing happening to him, and he doesn’t deserve it. He’s 70, and I’m 35. We first married when I was 19 and he was 54. Even I’ve had ill treatment from other people too, some calling me a victim. Well, if I was a victim, then I wouldn’t be so happy with my marriage nor love my husband the way I do. He’s my best friend for life, and he treats me so well. We have seven kids, and he has three grownup kids from his previous marriage. Our oldest is 15, and our youngest is 1.
