Usually that he wants something nice to look at while he's at the gym...

The guys I know ask bc they know I'll leave them alone and go do my thing. (1) We were all in the sports circuit together back at school so there's a bit of that still lingering as an old college bond, but (2) it's also nice to know there's someone there in case something happens and (3) after the workout it's nice to have someone you can just hang out with. In one or two cases there was definitely a bit of the eye-candy factor as well. ;)
