No reason to settle for "boring" in ANY case. But emotional stability is a bottom line in any long-term relationship..

Nothing boring about a person who keeps their word, shows up when they say they will and treats you and others kindly and respectfully.

There's only so much excitement a person needs and unpredictability usually ends up meaning a person is rude.

You want someone showing up at 3 am to go for a drive in the moonlight to the lake? How about someone calling you from jail because they were picked up drunk and disorderly? (this happened to me). Or an employee working for the census who didn't go to the houses he was assigned to and filled out his paperwork as if he'd been, (same guy. I had to fire him) which, of course, constituted fraud.

Unpredictability is a sign of a mental disorder. Excitement, on the other hand, can occur with planned or spontaneous events. A trip to Paris, the beach, a house party, barbecue, fishing trip can all be exciting. What happens during such events is somewhat unpredictable. But nothing about planning trips or events such as the former is UNstable.

Anyone unstable is a poor bet as a friend, partner or worker and that kind of excitement is no kind of enjoyment.

I'm drawn to excitement and unpredictability, but I know better than to commit to it. :) Emotional stability trumps excitement any day of the week. Charismatic, exciting people are attractive to almost everyone and I don't want that kind of drama. I'll manage the excitement aspect.

My best friend is dating a girl that’s very much option A and it works well for him
He brings the excitement and she goes along with it so it’s not boring in the end
