How can you tell the difference from a guy distancing himself because he no longer likes you vs he likes you but is trying not too?

How can you tell if he’s just changed his mind and no longer likes you vs he still finds you attractive but knows he can’t be with you.

Context is you both have partners, liked each other in the beginning but know it cannot be.

Not definitively. When a guy backs off you know it's not good for whatever reason. If he doesn't like you... that's fine. YOU keep moving. This is HIS loss. And if he's confused about his feelings that's also not something YOU deserve, so YOU need to keep moving and if he's worth your time and effort he will be the guy to come around and make sure you know he's into you.

it's hard to tell but it shouldn't be something to be concerned about. one way is to ask. if he's trying not to, then it kind of means he likes you more than his girlfriend which is bad, no?

Number one if someone genuinely wants you he will make a honest effort to express that to you even if he’s shy he’s not going to avoid you. Someone doing that when you’ve been clear isn’t worth your time.

So while you should move on here are some signs. Number one is if you notice he is stalking your accounts. Someone whose lost interest for the most part sone people are nosey… But you know he’s looking at your pages.

Two is that you know he’s talking a lot about you behind your back. People tell you that he still asks about you and talks about you all the time. Most people don’t talk about someone they don’t care about anymore though sone people just talk.

Three he is looking at you all the time. If you notice all three things safe to say he hasn’t moved on. Especially if he’s looking a lot. If you haven’t noticed these signs he seems detached and unbothered by you. Maybe he’s moved on. It can be hard to know and really doesn’t matter.
