Why are more short women reluctant to date short guys and be vocal about it?

I'm a 5'4 male and I've gotten rejected from women my height and shorter. People be like "go for shorter women." Attempt made at women 4'11 to 5'2. They said I'm tol short. The most direct were like 4'11 and 5'0 women who told me taller guys are better. Not taller than them but taller than myself. I immediately get bad vibes from short women with these experiences. It seems like as time goes on these little ones are getting more strict. Is it some kind of insecurity because they hardly are even making it to 5'5 or 5'6? Do they feel as though they need a taller guy to somehow donate his height to make them feel more "standard?" I don't get it. I already feel awkward enough standing or interacting with people much taller than me so I really cannot wrap my head around someone shorter than me being more comfortable with someone that they are like dwarf sized to.
