What the hell does ghosting mean?

I've found that "ghosting" can mean one thing to some people, but it can be many different things to many different people.

I deferred from communicating with someone in the recent past, not to intentionally "ghost" them, but just because I didn't know what to say to them.
As it turned out, my intuition to not communicate with them was the proper thing for me to do.

When I did reinitiate communications with them, with full and honest explanations as to the reasons for my period of non-communication, I found myself being attempted to be manipulated by them into their beliefs of situations in regard to me that were not true.

I politely ended the conversation and forever ended the relationship.

He was a prick about it.
It's his loss, not mine.

I can see people regarding "ghosting" as being cowardly.
It may sometimes be cowardly.
It isn't always so.
It can sometimes be the smart thing to do.
Especially so when dealing with unscrupulous people.

Simply explained: someone you know turns into a ghost. This means that you can no longer see them and you can no longer speak to them. They have broken off all contact with you and no longer respond to any requests.

It's when you have been talking to someone and they without reason or warning just stop talking to you. Leaving you wondering what happened to them, what you did, what is going on.

Ghosting is a technique of overcoming fear by living in the present. Fear rises from anxiety of the unknown, the future. But by living in the present, feeling the surroundings and thus not worrying about the future will let one to submerge fear to an extent.

This term was created in that crappy Will Smith movie After Earth.😆

I think it's when somebody stops talking to you - doesn't return calls or texts or reach out to you. They disappear or pull a ghost act. 😊
