The more you date, and the more promiscuous you are, deteriorates the true value of marriage in your mind. Marriage is not for the ones who cannot commit. Lack of commitment can often indicate fear, the idea of losing control, or thinking your fate is in someone else's hands. So one needs to ask why is it hard to trust? What has happened in my past that's making me doubt?

Others, truly try but they still end up divorcing. My mom (a boomer) went through 2 marriages. One was verbally abusive and controlling, the other cheated on her. At least she tried and now is content to be alone and is secure in her skin. But at least she tried. There can be a case for both arguments: 1. To try instead of wondering or 2. Not trying will save me time, heartache and headaches. If you know you definitely don't want marriage and kids, then follow through and focus on your career or whatever else you have in mind and abstain from sex bc it truly takes once. An even if you have all the birth control in the world there is always the possibility that it doesn't work. Abortions are a traumatic process for the body and many find themselves needing therapy months or years later.
