Why do I feel so guilty when I reject men romantically?

Because it hurts to be rejected but be kind about it. It’s worse to lead someone on though and instead of giving closure so they can find someone who does want them.

You have a good heart but don’t waste someone’s time. Not only out of respect for yourself but for them as well. Rejecting someone as a romantic and/or a sexual partner isn’t rejecting someone as a human being. There is women I would never be with like that who are great people I like just fine.

When i played basketball I would feel a little guilty when our team demolished the opposing team especially if their friends and family were watching
But I also would do it again in heartbeat.
That was the game we all played

We're just wired that way. It's like having a baby -- PAAAAAAAIN, but then you see the cutie and smile and hug and care for this little bundle for the rest of your life. We're wired to be with the guy we invest in, so when we part ways there's a sense of disruption, guilt, etc. (esp if you were friends with them).

Nah never feel like you have to feel guilty - you don't want them, no one says you have to have them. Just like none of them ever has to say yes if you want them as a boyfriend but they're not into you

This is a good thing. It shows you have empathy and care about other people's feelings. Be careful not to let it eat you up - somethimes you need to take care of yourself.
