It seems like guys only want pics of you but that's about it? Does this seem true is most cases? guys just want free pics of a girl and that's where it ends?

1 yWhat I looked for on a woman's profile when I used a dating site to try to find a wife.
Is she also a scientifically minded atheist?
Is she also a virgin?
Has she also never drank alcohol, smoked, or done any other drugs?
What does she look like?
What kinds of stuff does she collect?
What video games does she play?
Does she like cats, reptiles, dinosaurs (including birds), bugs, and arachnids?
Is she lewd enough?
Does she do cosplay?
Does she make art?
Does she like anime/cartoons, science, sci-fi and fantasy?
Does she also enjoy arcades, zoos, aquariums, natural history museums, and libraries?
Does she also not want any kids?
Now you could showcase most of that using profile pictures of you in your room and other relevant locations, but with how those sites/apps work, if you were to leave any of the profile things blank (say for example, if instead of saying whether or not you wanted kids, you just left it empty), then a serious guy who either wants, or doesn't want kids, will have a filter set for either, and so for both of them your profile won't ever appear when swiping or searching or getting matched, because they made giving a specific answer a requirement.
I say this because I cannot count the number of women who do not fill out their profile completely, leaving this or that criteria blank, or making an "about me" section short and non descript, or having profile pictures that are edited or don't show you doing anything.
The only guys who don't put in strict filters, are guys who want to bang you and 100 other women, and ditch every last one of you after.
Something else to note, even us nice guys looking for a compatible wife, want a preview.
I'd need to see what a woman looks like to know if I'm interested in her sexually, even if I'm already interested in her mentally, and I may get pics and then decide she isn't my cup of tea and just end it there, but it doesn't mean all I want are pics, it just means that this particular woman wasn't attractive enough to me to warrant proceeding any further.00 Reply

I think dating. App.. I Guess it would depend on which one you go to. But I would say maybe 6 out of 10 just there to pick up on girls flirt with them online..
I've never used a dating app
And probably never will
But I would say if that is what is happening. Yes they just get a picture and then they're gone
They're not there to find Anyone there just there to play
So in one way I could see where piss you off and In another way , it's a blessing because they're just showing you what Kind of person that they are anyway So it's kind of like a blessing in disguise00 Reply

1 ySome do but in the end you're in control.
My rules:
1. I have plenty of photos on my profile, if you want to see more of me let's go on a date.
2. I chat for at most 1-2 days, if he doesn't want to meetup after that, it's a waste of time and I'll move on.

2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. No one is on dating apps looking for a relationship, because that's a total waste of time.
Guys who are attractive enough to get easy casual sex will use dating apps to get that, and the other guys on there, few of whom live within 500 miles of you, know that pics or vids are the best they can hope for.
I know you are addicted to the dopamine hit you get from sitting on your couch scrolling for guys, but if you want more than casual sex or an "online only" relationship, you are going to have to go outside and meet people in person. Dating apps aren't the answer, even if there are occasional exceptions.18 Reply- 1 y
This is one of the very few takes where I disagree with you. My brother met his wife on a dating app and they've been together for 8 years now.
My mother found her partner on a dating app 18 years ago.
I've found partners on dating apps and always had the intention to eventually marry, but it hasn't gone that way. I've only been looking for someone to settle down with my whole life.
Many people are looking for relationships on dating apps. - 1 y
@HawkPerception 18 years ago doesn't count - dating apps were much different then. And, again, I said there were occasional exceptions. But if you actually run the numbers, you're getting a success rate (success being a relationship, not a hookup) of less than 2%. And nearly all of that 2% are among the best-looking people. Average people lose almost universally.

Around 42% of dating app users have been in a committed relationship with someone they met online3. Additionally, 10% of partnered adults met their significant other via a dating app
Copied and pasted that ^ - 1 y
"Around 42% of dating app users have been in a committed relationship with someone they met online."
How many of them STILL are in those relationships? Not many. And how is "committed" defined? For many, that just means they agreed to be exclusive - it doesn't speak to any real commitment.
"Additionally, 10% of partnered adults met their significant other via a dating app."
... to whom they can have various types of relationships with - they aren't necessarily in committed, long-term relationships.
Dating apps are incentivized to make their apps APPEAR to be successful, but if they were successful, they would blow up their own business model, which relies on people NOT being successful. - 1 y
I used dating apps to try to get a relationship, but I ended up swiping no/hitting pass on every woman on there that showed up after putting in a filters (which wasn't many, at least compared to the population anyway, maybe a few thousand women or so per site at best).
I feel like a large part of why that is, has to do with guys constantly saying women shouldn't expect to find a guy on a dating app/site thats looking for a real relationship, becuase then you end up with far less women wanting to use the sites/apps, and guys who wanted a wife leaving the app/site as a consequence of that.
Granted, dating apps today intentionally hide matches, even if you pay them, so its kind of moot at this point unless someone builds a decent one. - 1 y
@MrOracle That would work in my favor if it were "pretty, smart, sober, artistic, and fun", instead of just "pretty, dumb, intoxicated, talentless, and boring" , which is mostly what they sent me. I guess even being selected for their bottom line algorithm still gets you shit all for results.
A lot of hot slutty drug addicts on there, enough to give anyone carpel tunnel trying to swipe pass fast enough to find a match (unless I set it to "anywhere" then I get TONS of perfect matches... in other countries...
I miss late 1990s/early 2000s internet. - 1 y
That international descrepancy by the way is why I think its mostly a matter of American women thinking all men on dating sites are shallow deadbeat pigs, making it not seem worth it to them to even have a profile.
1 yMost people looking for anything serious don’t tend to stay on dating apps. Most people are there because either they can’t get someone in real life, to find easy hook ups, to feed their narcissistic supply, or for shits and giggles.
Just get off the apps and meet people in real life. It’s not worth it

u 1 yYou are asking if guys only want contributors of naked pictures when they surf dating sites?
00 Reply 2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. Ignore anyone making generalizations about dating apps based on their tiny exposure to them
You can find anything and everything on dating apps
Same as real life “chance meetings”
Some guys want pics some want to talk to no end
Some want dates, hookups, relationships, someone to go to a festival with, a threesome, a “domy mommy”, anything you can think of (and plenty of you couldn’t even think of)
It can all be found on dating apps.
Pick what you want and screen guys accordingly10 Reply2.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. In the late '90s, I joined a pre-internet dating service called Great Expectations.
When you joined, you went in for a photo shoot. You could bring a couple changes of clothes. They took several photos and you picked the one you wanted to be put on your page. The photos were not old or Photoshopped.
They had shelves of ring binders - blue for guys and pink for girls - organized alphabetically by first name. People went in and browsed the books.
Each person had one page. On one side of the page was your 8"x10" photo. On the flip side was your bio.
I would flip through the pages looking at photos. If I thought a girl was pretty, I looked at her bio. For me, her photo and the bio were equally important, but I wouldn't bother looking at the bio unless I thought she was pretty.
00 ReplyI'd say in at least 1/3rd or more of the women profiles I've seen, pics is the only thing they bothered putting. If there is a bio, it's often 'I don't know what to put here' or 'just ask : ) '. Basically a good chunk of women on dating apps feel content with having their looks do the heavy lifting.
I'm not even sure how to answer your question, because on one hand pics are important yes. But on the other I've seen profiles with just stars or flowers as pictures and I know those get matches too. Heck back in the day I've seem a profile as basic as they get with no pictures get matches and messages. Some men will interact with anything. But if you want a proverbial 'high quality man' then yes, you will need good pictures to put the odds in your favour.

1 yI've only been involved in one relationship online over the past couple of years. It started out without my even knowing what she looked like, I just enjoyed talking to her. She eventually sent me pictures and I found her attractive, but it wasn't necessary for me to receive them before I became interested in her. I will say that if I didn't find her picture attractive I probably would have viewed her more as a friend than a potential partner, but I can feel attraction for someone just talking to them without even knowing what they look like.

1 yi think that since the first element guys need in order to even want to attract and engage a girl is physical beauty, yes pics are vital.
we have to stop being hypocrits and understand that
1) beauty
2) good manners etc
and that is because, when you search for a woman to get in a relationship with, you first seach for appearance. if she is in your taste, you move on to find good manners in her. if she has you keep her, if not you withdraw.
So in conclusion, a beautiful girl will get to the second stage which is the search for good manners, but a girl out of your taste will never get to that stage.

Each time I get a match, I try to connect with the female a little bit and then ask her out on a date. Each time however, I've always been unmatched or blocked in the middle of setting up the date.. kinda sucks. Never once have I asked for pictures of her in an inappropriate way or even just regular pictures.. mostly because I have everything I need to know from her profile.00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yNope. I try to read every profile. I only stop if her bio is negative in nature from the get go.
You have to UNDERSTAND. That most women on dating apps are very negative. A guy can ONLY read so many of them before he has to take a break from dating apps. Most women do not understand how they drive many of the good men away.
