Would it be weird if I ask her friends about her?

So there’s this girl i like, i usually see her in the cafeteria with her friends. These past 2 weeks i haven’t seen her, but i have seen her friends. Now i’ve been thinking if i don’t see her but see her friends again, i strike up a conversation with them and ask about her in a non stalkerish way if you will. I mean i am going to have to meet them anyway because she usually hangs out with them. Would this be a creepy thing to do?

It depends. Does she have any idea who you are? I’d feel weird if a total stranger was asking about me. But if she knows you’re a classmate then that would be ok I guess as long as you don’t get too personal with your questions.
