Do you like jumping hugs?

Question

I’m 5ft3 and 102 lbs and he’s 6 ft 3 and 215 lbs and I have always wanted to try that jumping hug and a kiss but never tried before and I tried it with him and loved it. Do you like it or are we too heavy?

I've told this story before, but in the early 90s, I worked at a pizza place, and the girls that worked there eventually came to greet me that way every day when I'd get to work. This went on for several years. Eventually I got a new, full-time IT job, and while I still bought pizza there, I usually had it delivered. It was about three years later that I went in with some friends to dine in, and nearly all of the girls had moved on and been replaced with new ones, just as you might expect, so I naturally assumed that tradition was over.

But, as I was hanging out in the dining room waiting for my pizza, I heard a girl shriek my name and I barely had time to raise my head before she was airborne. She was one of the girls I'd used to work with, who'd come in to pick up her own pizza, and saw me in the dining room, and was unwilling to break our tradition. The reaction from my friends was priceless as I'm standing there, holding this girl they'd never seen before as she gave me a huge bear hug.

Even now, there are a few female friends of mine (NOT former pizza girls) who greet me this way. I don't see them very often anymore, but when I do, I always get a jumping hug from them.

Honestly, I've never ever seen this in real life, lol. Maybe I just don't pay enough attention but I've only ever seen it in movies.

In theory it sounds nice, but I imagine one of the people has to be a good amount taller and/or heavier than the other person, or else it just won't work, lol.

Me and my girlfriend and too close in height and weight for this to work.

Even if we were the "correct" height and weight anyway though I'd too clumsy and loose my balance easily. Lol.

I love them! Although I have to do them gently. He's 5'4 and I'm 5'11 and weigh close to each other so if I'm not careful we'll both end up on the ground.

That height and weight difference works fine for a jumping hug. My wife is not too much shorter than me and weighs a bit more. We don't do jumping hugs.

A jumping hug can be VERY NICE if you two are only partially clothed. 😎

It depends. I once had a woman I worked with jump and hug me with her legs wrapped around my waist as we were leaving an office happy hour outing. Like she hung on way too long and wouldn't let go. She had a boyfriend and a kid with him. I was married at the time. Can you say awkward boys and girls? I had no idea that was coming.

With that said, if someone I was with did that, I would find it cute and appreciate the enthusiasm in the moment. I'd be smiling from ear to ear.

I have had several girlfriends in my past do the jumping hug and kiss thing - including the last one. I have had a few gal pals just do the jump and hug and occasional kiss somewhere too. Even last Sunday a gal pal leaped onto me wrapping her limbs around me like an octopus. The friend I was with just looked at this event with his dopey, “gett’er boy look.” Do I like this? I suppose it just depends who it comes from. From my girlfriends, yes. From my women friends … I think I just tolerate it.

Love em. I generally don't like being touched by other people but jumping hugs always get passed my defenses. Probably because I'm a dog person and I've yet to meet one that doesn't end up in my arms.

Never do it from behind though, fair warning. I accidently launched one over my shoulders for doing that. The look of shock as our faces passed each other in slow motion...

As long as there's some prior notice and it's been attempted before 🛏️ 😂 my ideal woman about 5 foot and about 94 pounds would at least try from you know bouncing off a chair or mattress with me next to her privately if I actually could take her weight adorably in my arms and my body 🙃👀😋 sounds like something there 😅💞 love 😘

Males who are unfit but at a healthy weight should be able to at least lift their own body weight. Someone who is fit at least twice their weight or more. An obese man might struggle lifting half their body weight but should be able to.
