Are narcissists good at playing the victim and acting helpless?

You notice narcissists preying on someone empathetic. Such as a good woman whose with a man whose abusive, refuses to work a job, refuses to do anything because she feels sympathy for him. Because he plays the sympathy card and she stays.

As where narcissistic women tend to be the damsel in distress. She is the way she is because of her past because of what others have done to her. But have no intentions on ever changing.

I think it’s worse when someone KNOWS they have a problem and refuse to want to work on it or get professional help. Instead they want to use someone as a enabler and a therapist. Taking advantage of someone who truly loves them and wants to help them. Only dragging them down into their pit of depression and self loathing.

But these people don’t want help. The only time they’re ever happy is… Being unhappy. I just couldn’t imagine causing someone that much pain. I feel bad when people feel sorry for me.

Everyone has issues and nobody’s perfect. But most people strive to do better and be better. Even if they have rough patches and it’s okay to not be okay. But some people just want to stay there. You talk to them and it’s constantly everything going on. If they so much as stubbed their toe you have to hear a 20 minute sob story.

But oddly…. They’re never there for anyone else. They just don’t have time for your negativity.

From my personal experiences, that sounds for the most part accurate. Except I've met narcissists who do seem to genuinely care about certain people, as long as they don't do anything to THEM. I say "seem", because there is that question of whether they're only doing that because they want to be liked/feel better about themselves.

Narcissists in general just love attention. Even if they don't reciprocate your feelings, they'll continue to act flirty and lead you on, so you keep giving them attention and compliments. They'll also complain about "creepy men", or "crazy women" but at the same time, they're flattered by the attention because it boosts their ego and reinforces their high opinion of themselves. It's best not to feed their ego. But the issue with narcissists is, you never know if their feelings/actions are genuine, or if they're just saying/doing what they know will please you, so you'll like them.

I don't really see a problem with using a friend as an enabler and therapist though, especially a therapist. Isn't that what friends are for? To motivate you and listen to your problems

Oh yes , they can’t take accountability for their selfish behavior and actions , they always try to point fingers at you before pointing fingers at themselves first , they do No wrong , they will twist stories around to make you feel like you are the bad one when really they are the piece of shit

True. But not all folks in distress are narcissistic. I agree that the narcissistic have their sob stories wound up very nicely -- as convincing as an AI hallucination, but that's basically all it is.

They are incredibly gifted at it! I'm speaking from personal experience here trust me, stay away from those people. I had friends that were like this, and they were so good at it I didn't even realize I was an emotional abuse victim for 20 years.

There are two types of narcissist arrogant and vulnerable. The arrogant narcissist knows his shit doesn't stink but the vulnerable narcissist wants people to agree their shit smells like roses. Mostly the first is male and the second is female.

I think your characterization is not quite right. Narcissism is more about being perfection as you are.

Where are you able to find and study all of these clinically diagnosed narcissists? NPD isn't something you can notice from afar. Where are you noticing these things? Or are you just speculating based on a particular person you know? And if yes to that how do you know they have NPD?

Most narcissists are students of human behavior because it enables them to get full value for thier manipulation. So yes, most narcissistic women are experts at playing the victim.
