if my boyfriend and I were at odds w each other/having an argument and he told me to stop hyperventilating when I wasn't isn't this done to be manipulative or condescending, what do you think? I said "im not" and he repeated that he will talk to me after i'm done hyperventilating.

Well it seems like it to me normal people are able to communicate if someone turns simple communication into a toxic conversation full of shutting you down and making you feel bad but if he has a concern you have to sit there and listen at it… Yeah not healthy. I think you’re seeing the signs that you’re being devalued by him and should probably break it off.

Imagine a future with him imagine being married with kids… if it sounds like a nightmare it definitely could be. Last thing you want is to end up knocked up by him or married later down the road. If he doesn’t discard you before then.

Well, by insisting you're hyperventilating when you're not, he's attempting to distort your perception of your own emotional state. This is a classic gaslighting tactic.
