Over hobbies ALONE? I don't know. I'm not aware of it.

Over my hobbies just "confirming" what opinions is already in their heads, usually? (confirming a pre-existing bias?) Yes.

If I played it or marketed these hobbies differently, in a different town, it MIGHT not be as big a deal.

Yes. I collect toy robots. It's always been a huge no for women. So I chose the robots over them because they don't treat me like crap and cheat on me.

Nope. If we don’t like the same things (or don’t find one another’s hobbies at least interesting enough to listen to them tell us about it) then we’d just fall apart naturally without an all-out rejection.
