Philophobia experience?

Does anyone here have philophobia? What is your experience with it?

I just had to google that. But yes I do believe that exists. I've seen it several times myself (on here). I think it's not uncommon for everyone to go through (at least) one period of feeling this way. Often after being hurt badly.

I don't think it exists naturally (it's a consequence of something that happened).

I don't think its something anyone has to continue feeling if they don't want to be. It might take a shitload of work, and time, but I think anyone can heal enough to try and love again.

If this isn't something you've had for a decade or something. Hang in there.

To some extent a lot of people do, albeit of it is to an extent of clinically calling a phobia is of course arguable.

That said, fairly common attachment styles like fearful, avoidant, dismissive, insecure etc are all in essence elements of being afraid of love.

If you do want to research the matter I suggest you start there. Attachment issues, being very closely linked to romantic fears, is an easier field to find modern research in.

Of course if it is the notion of love itself that is scary and not the acts of it, that might be better studied as a phobia.
