How difficult is it to have moderate Asperger’s syndrome?

Mine is mild and I have some small quirks and issues.

I can't fully say but I did have a few autistic friends. They struggle understanding subtlety. You don't make a joke and then just leave it. They can be extremely offended or self doubting. And you dont playfully start a fight like happens in middleschool because they will be very hurt and take it as bullying rather than just throwing the mnm back at whoever threw it.

So in the social context cues stuff they find it hard to tell. But if your their friend its very easy to deal with. Just be transparent. When I joke I have a habbit of leaving someone in suspense for a few seconds and then revealing its a joke so they can experience the joke but then don't have to doubt. And I am always very direct in my communication. Those personality traits are highly compatible with autists because they can logically comprehend it. In other areas they are always talented people who are good at sticking to tasks.

You should tell us. I have known some students with Asperger's and the different extremes of it are evident but I still see their lives as appearing to be difficult for them to deal with but I think that's more to do with MY perception of how I observe their relationships with others being different.

I don’t know. I only know what it’s like to live with mild symptoms (a little bit hard, occasionally).

Like it is for most people though I can imagine there's stigma when ignorant people can't grasp how some people are different and process the world another way.
