Guys, what's some questions you loved getting from your date that was unexpected?

I have a date Saturday and I am nervous as shit. The only date I've ever been on is the one with my ex and he doesn't really count because we were friends for many years before getting together.

This guy is totally new. So I have to think of some really good stuff to say. The only thing I can think of so far is my terrible experiences on dating apps and asking him about his experiences but that's about as far as I've gotten.

I can't think of what to say beyond that. I just want things to flow but I'm so awkward.

Make it natural, things will flow naturally if you keep it simple even with questions, there are plenty of things you can ask to keep the date interesting.
From favourite foods and drinks, if he likes movies what kind of movies, express your passions and pet peeves, one top will lead to the next automatically you'll see , just be yourself !!

Do you know if you have anything in common, even remotely? You don't have to know as much as he does but it does give you options in keeping the conversation going a little. Even easier if it's something you're also well versed in.

People like to ramble about their passions and I'll intentionally act like I don't know much about something to hear my date talk about it. If I start off too strong on a subject it kind of turns into an interrogation rather than hearing how she feels about it.

All I know is we have the same interests in music and we both like football. And I think gaming too. GTA to be exact. But I will have to find out more I guess on the date.

Well you've got several starting points at least. Don't know how far music snd football will go but I know gamers have many stories to tell about the games they play.

If the music and football topics don't lead anywhere you can do some more fishing for other hobbies and interest he might have before moving on to the gaming stuff.

It's a first date so don't invest too heavily into it. It's a general vibe date if anything. Talk about your passions and interests while giving him room to talk about his.

LOL, how confident are you? Look him in the eye and say "so you think you're gonna get lucky tonight"? Totally deadpan. Hold that for 5 seconds. Then let a smile creep in. And say, "just checking who I'm sitting here talking to". His mind is gonna go from panic to relief in about 10 seconds. And off you go. Have fun. Rattle his cage. Wake him up. Make him pay attention. Tell him there'll be a test at the end of the date. Project fun, confident, and playful.

For crap's sake don't sit there exchanging "where ya from", "whaddaya do", what food do you like", "what's your favorite movie". Gag, choke, escape, mind numbing small talk!

it wasn't by the end of the date either, wasn't asking for number or contacts or anything... wasn't a plan for next week, nor next month

and I liked it that way... "where... because I'll be there" kind of attitude

This may be like the blind leading the blind in some respects as the last “date” I had , the year began 19** but I will offer how I would approach your scenario.


I like to understand a persons energy , what drives them , what things re important to them , what lights them up … that can tell you so much and likely how comparable you are to, assuming they are being honest !


It’s the “real” that a mature guy is interested in , I’m sure he will already be captivated by who is appraising him , but then maybe I’m biased 😊, so what’s left and up for grabs would be a connection in the emotional and chemistry sense for YOU !

I don't like 20 questions, what I like is when its organic and we have so much to talk about that we keep jumping from topic to topic because one thing leads to another. You can't prepare for it in that sense. If I was your date and it went well in my eyes you lost track at question 3 because we already went into 10 other topics.
