For the ladies! Do you trust/ love your man enough to say if it’s not in my face it didn’t happen?

I’ve had someone recently tell me that they trust their partner won’t do anything to hurt their relationship, and if he for example cheated, she would expect/ hope she would never ever find out about out about it. Like she’s said to him don’t have me out here looking stupid whatever you do… I don’t have healthy relationship history or role models and to each their own, but is this a common acceptance?

I think a woman with that mindset chooses to be purposefully oblivious as to stay in a relationship she really wants and keep a certain man. Cheating works because it is happening behind someone’s back in most cases, so although it isn’t happening in front of the person getting cheated on’s face, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening at all.


That’s why I feel like it’s important to know who you’re dealing with before getting into a relationship with them. By the time a title is in place, you should know his/her character well enough to determine if they're worthy being trusted and if they are then choose that lane and stick to it unless you’re given good reason to veer from it.


Hopefully your friend was just being facetious and if she were ever faced with him cheating she wouldn’t turn a blind eye. However if she were the type, it’s clear that she wants to stay with the man because she believes she has a really good one, she really covets the relationship and doesn’t want to lose it. We can all relate to that at some point. However if the cheater was so restless and dissatisfied in the relationship that they chose to cheat, are they really worth keeping?

That is exactly where a lot of marriages end up. Two people trapped by economics. Trapped by kids. Hell, they may even like, love, or respect each other as roommates. But there is nothing romantically. For years. So one or both go outside of their marriage to take care of their needs. The other person doesn't really care enough to disrupt the comfortable existence they have going. So they simply adopt a "don't ask / don't tell" approach and as long as no one gets publicly embarrassed, it just goes on that way. Roommates with a hall pass. But the risk is that one of them finds something better eventually. Or one of them eventually decides that being stuck in first gear isn't much of a life.

And she's not the one that will look stupid. It will be him how come you don't have a good dating when you start to date some one you let it be known who you are and set the rules. I won't be around if you do this this or that

Not for me (i know I'm not a lady). This is insane to me. I would definitely want to know if my girlfriend cheated... so I could dump her. This is also not common. I can tell you that for damn sure. Your friend is nuts (no offence).
