Call me immature, but I couldn’t care less about remaining friends after a dating attempt didn’t work out (especially if we didn’t start off as friends). I can understand being polite and respectful when our paths cross or if we have mutual friends, but friends? No. What particularly annoys me is when someone romantically rejects you, but they insist on being friends. Like, how selfish and inconsiderate can you be? You’re upset with me because I don’t want to stick around to be your ego boost or back up plan in case you don’t find anything better LOL

You're not immature to want NC with them, as long as there are no harbouring grudges or insensitive interactions there is no obligation to remain on close terms with anyone after going out with them.
