Do you really mean "relationship"? Like you want an actual long-term committed relationship? Or do you mean you're interested in sexual encounters like this? I think there is a huge difference.

The one suggests more of a lifestyle choice. As in you want something approximating a relationship, but with the sub/dom dynamic. I have trouble getting my head around that, personally (like how the fuck do you have a talk about sharing expenses with a dynamic like that). I don know, that some people do indeed have relationships like that.

The other suggests more of a fetish type attraction. It's something you're into sexually, and would be interested in trying. But you're not looking for a short guy to introduce to your family at Thanksgiving. In this case, it's a lot easier to explain as: people are into whatever they're into... because people are into weird specific things. That's normal (even if those specific things vary in a huge way).

There is no real "why" that you will be able to figure out without the help of a psychologist. It could be something from your childhood. It could be something from the early years of your sexual development. But nobody really knows why they're into whatever they're into. It's best to just accept it, and not worry about the "why." (simply because you'll never find the answer)
