I prefer short men. Am I weird?

Question

So here’s the deal: I do and always have preferred short men.

I’m 5ft 5 and I do not want a man taller than 6ft, which most of my friends find very strange. I just find that short men are much more humble and willing to put effort into the relationship plus I physically find them more attractive.

I’m not talking like 5ft but around the same height as me.

Why is it people find this so strange?

You like what you like. I think short (er) men will love you (because, at times, they don't get very much love from women).

I would argue the fact that you can't base personality traits on height though (there is no definitive proof that short men are more humble than tall men). That said, I can understand where you're coming from if you think that because they (stereotypically) they don't receive much interest from women, they are humbled when an attractive one likes them.

That's for some, not all.

I love short men too. I can see them eye to eye. I had a friends with benefits. He ate me out. All I can remember is seeing the bed wet. Lol I squirted and came like a million times. So that contributes to why I like short men but also because im comfortable. I just like them my height but no shorter.

Probably because women prefer taller men. Not necessarily a certain height, just TALLER than them. This evident in the fact that a lot of couples look proportional to each other in terms of height. You don’t often see a 7 foot tall man with a 5 foot tall woman. There’s usually just a few inches separating the man and woman, but nothing id say extreme. Preferences are weird though, because you can prefer something on paper or online, but in-person is totally different.

Honestly, I have the same idea for girls: around my height is optimal (I'm like 5'5.25" or something). Probably not as big of a deal for guys to have this preference , but I think plenty of girls share your 'similar height' perception. You just hear a lot about girls who have a taller height craze, but even many of those girls probably exaggerate how much they care about that (meaning if it came down to it, they'd still date a guy much shorter than 6ft, or not even recognize what 6ft really is). I think most girls are fine with the guy being around the same height as them, but not much shorter than that.

I think because it falls out of common cultural norms, people usually think me odd for preferring women taller than me, so I know what you mean at least somewhat.

But do not allow others to sway you from getting the kind of man you desire, your preferences are part of what makes you who you are.

Well if you want someone who's around the same height as you, then I don't see how that makes you "weird".

It would seem weird to me if you would prefer people who are way shorter than you, like 4ft or something like that. But in your case, that's totally fine. I don't see the problem.

Anyway, opinions are subjective. So don't pay attention to what people think of you.

Probably the same reason I prefer girls my own height even if it's unrealistic in my case anyway. I just feel a sense of being equals and I like being able to look at a girl at eye level and not have to look down all the time and strain my neck. For your case it'd be looking up, but I'm guessing you just prefer to look at someone at eye level and not have to look up at someone who let's say is around 6'0 or taller.

People probably find it strange because most women prefer tall guys. There isn't ACTUALLY anything weird about it, it's just not the stereotype for what women find attractive so people might be surprised when you tell them.
