Why do only American men prefer short girls?

It is weird. Literally each time I see short girl complaining about height here, always American men saying most men there prefering short girls. I live in Europe and guys here prefer tall girls I am sure.

Okay. if a short girl comes and asks kindly validation from men, it is more likely that men who have preference for short girls will answer while others will shut his mouth. That is how the internet works. You can not determine what majority likes by simple GAG question

Here is what majority of American men likes, if you like reading scientific studies instead of forum posts. American men are not "one person". They have different preferences. Some like tall, some like short. If you want to find out which height is "most prefered" on average, it is between 5'5" - 5'6" which is a bit above average, but not tall.

To clear that: American men are not monotype. If you look at study you will see some like short as 5', some like tall as 6', some like in middle like 5'6" for example. On average, 5'5" to 5'6" is most prefered but men have very broad range of height preference. If you look at 10th page table, womens height does not really matter to most untill height drops to 4'10" or raises 6'1"

Yeah that makes sense. Id have a hard time being with someone under five feet tall.. Not that i wouldn't, just the mechanics of it would be weird. Like logistically difficult if you get my meaning. now if she was over 6 feet, that wouldn't bother me.. That actually enables some umm positions that aren't otherwise possible

The op should also remember the average height of women in this country ranges between 5 feet and 5 foot 7 inches I think.. I could be off on that.. Like my wife, she's 5'5" but years ago I dated someone who was 6 feet tall. She's the only girl I ever saw who could dunk..

Average height in US is 5'4"
Average "most prefered" height in women is 5'5"-5'6"
It does not mean all men like women around this range of course.

I think people like what is less common - in the 1500s obese woman were beautiful cause everybody was starving - in the 2nd century feminine men were valued in South Asia cause most men were muscular and rough - in America - tall woman are common - so people prefer short - in China - tall woman are uncommon - so men want tall woman

I traditionally prefer taller women. Then for the first time in my life I was involved with someone on the shorter side of the spectrum. After her, I can honestly say I no longer have a preference one way or the other. Which in saying this I realized her character was just too damn remarkable to for me not to overlook her height. I think it’s just Europe that is the exception compared to the rest of the world. European people are tall. The Netherlands has the tallest average height in the world. Well it can be the latter for instance some uk form I saw released data saying 5’8” guys got the most swipes. But I don’t believe women prefer it. I think in the swipe world people just swipe fast.

Okcupid was primarily website driven and people really did bias strongly on things like height and income and so on. You can see it in their other data (also the data set was millions of interactions). I’d guess it’s pretty accurate - a mild preference for short but doesn’t matter that much until a woman clears 5’10”. For men though every inch from 5’4” to 5’11” helps quite a bit. 6’2” is peak and the “best” is from 5’11 to 6’7”

I mean, very few girl would say "hmm this guy is 5'8, swipe." right? But it is just that guys who swipped happened to be 5'8 because of other features. Maybe same exist for that Okcupid study. Average height for women there is 5'4" so it is possible that most women happened to be between 5' - 5'8". Maybe 5' girls swpied more than 5'8 girl because she is shorter than more amount of men compared to 5'8 girl, rather than men having strong preference for 5' height.
