On a purely physical level, do you think that short guys are unattractive?

My boyfriend was getting changed yesterday and I told him he looked sexy. He looked back at me weird and said "really?" Like, he was genuinely surprised that I thought he looked sexy. I asked him why he didn't think he was and he replied with "I don't know... I just... I don't know". He doesn't like talking about his feelings haha. After more prodding he told me that although he is comfortable being short, girls think it's a "horrible trait" and that he "had to accept that girls will never find [him] physically attractive." He's not an unattractive guy, he has beautiful green eyes, a nice face and a good body (and great hair XD). I think it's so ridiculous that he actually feels that way just because he is short.

One does not come to a conclusion like that without actually experiencing it. I get that a lot of girls prefer taller guys but do you actually think that shorter guys are just physically unattractive? I'm talking purely physical attractiveness. My dad is short so maybe that's why, but I've never seen shorter men as any less attractive or less masculine. We're both about the same height (5'4/5'5), I prefer it that way. What are your thoughts?

Strange enough but it is true ladies think the bigger the better, shotter guys think they are just easy to shoot ;/. Now hold on here, I'm not hateful of guys taller than myself because most of my friends are well over 6ft, but however, it is true shorter guys seems to be the last option unless they are wealthy, because I am not so tall and the type of rejections I get is far different from the rejections my fellow 6ft-ers get... Personally, I would prefer a guy taller than me but I would not go as far as saying that short guys are physically unattractive. And besides, i've seen many unattractive tall guys as I have seen attractive short guys. I guess it also depends on your definition of short. My definition of short is a guy shorter than me, and I'm 5"3, so I think that "short" guys will always find girl who does not find them short. Even if not everyone finds a short guy attractive, my advice is to just don't give a fuck about what they say because there are more girls out there and everyone has a different preference on physical attractiveness. One "bad" physical trait does not immediately make someone unattractive. There is so much more to attractiveness than your height.

A good looking short guy actually upsets them because it goes against this image that they have constructed on what a short guy has to look like, well pretty much what the media and society has constructed for them. I am a short person, so I will not mind dating a guy if he was short. When you like or love someone, something like height shouldn't matter. If the guy is attractive and have a nice personality, then why not? I seen a short guy (around my 5'1 height) who is extremely good looking date a girl who is in her height range. Tall men are seen as more masculine, stronger, they make a woman feel more feminine and give her a sense of protection.

I think it's a way of fighting one's own insecurities, maybe. It could be that girls who are very short are more attracted to very tall men to compensate for their own genes.

Meanwhile, girls who are already tall (for their gender) have less of a problem with it, because it matters less for their offspring. Being tall isn't without its pitfalls, after all: tall people die earlier (higher IGF 1 levels), and tend to have overactive pituitary glands. If everything is held constant, tallness correlates with metabolic dysfunction as well.

to be honest i think so.. dont get me wrong short can be attractive, but if a short guy that i didn't necessarly found extremly attractive asked me on a date i would have said no unless we had a lot of chemistry. Ex. Right now a guy that is the same hight as me likes me and when i first met him i considered not meeting him again based on the fact that i knew he was short hence i wasn't going to find him attractice. But i went, met him and got to know him, but he was just smaler then me in every way (weight and hight) + we had nothing in common and i just didn't feel the conection. You're right... however, there's a LOT more to being attractive than just facial structure and body proportions. Usually I can tell if a guy is shorter just from a picture, just like you can tell if a guy is taller. Anyways, height DEFINITELY plays a role in how attractive a guy is. But in my past, I have dated guys who were often about my height (5'5) or taller. I would not mind being with a short guy so long as he is not intimidated by me wearing heels. From previous experiences, I went out with this one guy who would tell me to take off my heels and just wear flats because I would appear taller than him. Hence, the reason I often prefer someone who is taller.
