Is it weird for a man to have a height preference?

OK, so my... Nibba, @ShadezMcgee gave me some advice I needed dating-wise, and I intend to follow it. And I thank him for it, but there is something else on my mind. And if you read the title, you know what it is.

We all know that women generally prefer tall men because the height difference makes them feel more feminine. At 5'6/167 cm, I'm a short man--at least by Western standards. I want to know from both the guys and the girls is, is it weird for a MAN to have a height preference? Lemme explain.

While I won't write them off, I'd prefer not to date a girl that is short (5'3 or less). I'm short myself and want to have a family one day, and ideally I would have bigger, stronger kids. With a short dad AND a short mom, that's very likely not going to happen. So the woman being tall is ideal--especially if she is at least 5'8/172 cm.

(Although I can overlook her being short if she's stocky or athletic.)

Apart from the fact that I want to have normal-sized or tall children, I do associate tallness with strength and power like a lot of people do. Honestly, I find it stupid that being tall or an "Amazon" is emasculating or just a bad trait to have if you're female.

The Amazons were strong and maybe tall, but they were also feminine and beautiful. But a lot of tall girls comment that they feel "bulky" or "manly", or are generally insecure with their height, which is upsetting to me. Just because you're tall and some insecure Bitch-Ass-Nibba says you should feel "gigantic" or "bulky" or "masculine" doesn't mean you have to.

Some nibbas insecure as fuck. Insecurity is NOT COOL.

So again, ladies and gentlemen, is it weird for a man to have height preferences? Especially when the reason is his kids' height?

As for me, I'm not insecure about being short. Bruce Lee was short, and nibbas were not making fun of HIM.

Are any of your ancestors taller? My dad and paternal grandfather were short, maybe around 5'6". But my paternal great grandfather was over 6' and so was his father was fairly tall, too.
My mom was barely 5'2", but her father was close to 6", one of her brothers was at least 5'10" and her other brother was at least 6'2".
I wound up being 6'2".

A lot of Asians were traditionally short, but better nutrition made the younger generations tall. It seems that good nutrition makes more of a difference than genetics.

So I doubt if marrying a tall lady will necessarily produce taller offspring.

In answer to your question, it's not weird at all for a person to have a height, hair or eye color, or body shape preference. I have a major thing for short girls (5'-5'4"). But in the interest of full disclosure, my wife is 5'5". :-)

Well, my father is 5'10, and so is my grandmother on his side. My mother was adopted, so I don't know how tall my maternal ancestors are.
