What is the downside to dating a single mother?

Enough said. No single man with no kids should EVER sign up for that. If you are desperate enough to sign up for that then you deserve what you get.

Go start your OWN family after years of enjoying time alone as a couple. Don't settle for some ready made family from day one with some other man's kid.

Actual downsides:

Her devotion is 100% to the kid.
Your entire lives together will revolve around the kids schedule, getting sick, babysitters.
You have to deal with the father being around and their drama
You have no authority.
She'll expect you to be daddy and pay the bills.
You'll pay the bills but not have authority over the child
"You aren't my REAL DADDY!" from the kid.
You know she just needs financial help and a father figure... she isn't in love with you, she is just using you.
You miss out on the bonding alone time as a couple... the honeymoon phase.
You still have NO KIDS. You haven't reproduced and passed yourself on to the next generation, some other guy has.
Her character and how loose and reckless she is. Unless she is a widower who was married she most likely got knocked up by some bad boy. She's her values suck.

You won’t be her number 1 priority , her time is limited , she will expect you to be the new role model for her child , whether the biological father is still in the picture or not , She will always have a special place in her heart for her baby daddy , if he is still in the picture , she might end up screwing him again especially if he left her first

Getting too emotionally attached to the kids and if a breakup happens it's basically a break up with the kids to. Even tho in some extremely rare cases step dads can get custody after a break up. I've known 2 people who were raised by their ex-step dad's because the bio parent were so terrible.

What's important is to make sure you know what it is that you want, before entering any type of relationship... So that you aren't wasting your or anyone else's time.
